Welcome to the Boston Association of Cabaret Artists (BACA)! We are a membership organization dedicated to the support and advocacy of the art of cabaret.

Cabaret is a form of live entertainment in clubs, restaurants and other small-size venues. Cabaret may include performances by singers, jazz groups, comedians, and vaudeville-type acts. BACA, however, focuses on singers, along with their accompanists, performance venues and audiences. The music performed by cabaret vocalists encompasses many styles of song, including pop, rock, and country, but you will most often hear showtunes and songs that have sufficiently passed the test of time to be considered "standards."

You don't have to be a "cabaret artist" or live in Boston to join BACA. We welcome everyone as members. On this web site, you will find information to match your needs whether you are a professional entertainer, an aspiring performer, an amateur singer who likes to go to open mikes and piano bars, a pianist looking for singers to accompany, a songwriter, a music educator or someone who loves to attend cabaret shows.
